Does any one know of any building society or bank that when you become a member or something they give you shares?(because ages ago the woolwhich when it was a building society if you put in £100 you would get free shares from them) any one know of any thing similar?any one know of any other free shares?thanks

This will take a lot of explaining.. shares in building societies are only give to account holders who have held an account for a certain length when they "demutualise" i.e. they become owned by the shareholders, and not by the investors who have their money with them. there is no bank or building society that will give you shares for free.
