Ave a medion laptop md95766 lost sound taking to computer shop he said i would have to fit one two a usb?

It could be a lose connection or simply a driver issue.
a usb soundcard would be your only option if that is problem.
soundcards do fail on laptops though, i worked for a company
a few years back who used twinhead laptops and half of the soundcards failed on them.
