I have an acer aspire 3000 laptop that is over a year old. a few days ago (for no reason) that touchpad/mouse pad started freezing or moving the cursor irratically. also the keyboard stopped working, although some keys worked if you really thumped them. if i plugged in a usb mouse, that would work fine! eventually i took out the battery, and this solved the problem! if i put the battery back in, the problem returns! i cant see how the battery would affect the laptop in this way!? plz can anybody advise, as i dont want to buy a new battery for no reason!!

Try with a small brush to clean between and under the keys sometimes dirt can get trapped. if you are trying to run too many programmes at once it can cause it freezes. good luck hope it helps
