The sound is gone frm my laptop peroxide blonde can you help, and all the volumes r up, its an acer laptop 4060

The most common cause of this is not usually the driver, but a program that asks windows to mute the sound. this usually occurs from badly written code in music software.i am assuming you are using windows xp.go to the start button_ control panel_ sounds speech and audio devices_ ad the system volume.this will bring a dialog box up, uncheck the mute box and move the volume slider all the way to the right.if that doesnt work then it most likely is your sound driver. in which case you will need to download a replacement.to find out the make of your soundcard, go to start_ all programs_ accessories_ system ls_ system information.in the box that comes up click components in the left hand box and then click sound device, that will bring up the manufacturer and device model in the right hand box. driver guide will most likely have the driver you need...http://www.driverguide.com/hope this helps.
