Is there a point to having a sports car that can do say 200 miles a hour?

When our roads have a max speed limit of 70 miles a hour? however, i do agree that sport cars look nice etc etc and i own one! but why do we pay so much for sports cars when we can not use them for what they were built for especially with speed cameras!

I was thinking the same thing the other night when i was watching top gear. what is the point in making these cars go so fast when you cannot ?
