I have about 5 direct debits. my pay goes direct into the bank. my credit card is linked to abbey and i use online banking but i have just about had enough with abbey national they cost me £50 in interest charges, because they didnt pay my credit card bill on time (i set up a payment to come out of my bank -to be paid into the credit card - an a specific date, while i was on holiday , and they didnt do it until 8 days later) it takes 4 days for an electronic payment to go through now they have refused a new direct debit - they told the company that the account does not accept direct debits.. despite having the correct account number and this being the same account that other direct debits come out of.

Hsbc, as anybody already said, not perfect, but you can keep track of all your accounts online and even make payments easily.
