Is this a valid explanation for obe/nde? (see description)?

Http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6960612.stmexperts have found a way to trigger an out-of-body experience in volunteers. the experiments, described in the science journal, offer a scientific explanation for a phenomenon experienced by one in 10 people. two teams used virtual reality goggles to con the brain into thinking the body was located elsewhere.
Answer
Yes this is a valid explanation of a obe experience. the drug induced state featured in the book dmt: the spirit molecule by rick strassman is another valid explanation.however, both are experimentally induced conditions not directly comparable to spontaneous experiences.the experiments also fail to explain to account for people that obtain accurate information at a distance while having this out of body experience. so, there may be a difference between an out of body experience and an actual out of body event. i would say further research, especially along the lines of information gathering and possible detection of the projected body, would be needed in order to create further hypothesis for testing and certainly no conclusions can be drawn about obes based on the current research.michael john weaver, m.s.
