Working over christmas holidays?
Well i`m a nurse and have worked for over 20 years, i have 2 small children 5& 7
i only work 17 hours a week but have said i will work boxing day and new years eve night.
those who work full time only want to
work 1 shift over the 2 week period and thats not going to be christmas or new year.
is it me or are they being stupid and selfish.
before i had my children i always christmas day.
some people today
seem to want to
take, they knew about unsocial shifts before they went into nursing.
Answer
My ex husband used to work for british airways. before we had children he always covered the christmas shift os those with children could have time with their families. when we had our children, he could never get anyone to cover his shift for him, until one christmas day he went to work at 6am got home at 6pm and our son died during the night from a cot death. it was only after this that people would work his christmas shift for him.
