Should we always do what science and technology make possible.

I believe you should never waste knowledge in any form, however, when discovering what science and technology can lead to you must always make sure it can be harnessed and kept under wraps. for example, if a poison had been discovered but you could not develop an antidote (? not sure if correct word), then i would not say the poison had been sufficiently developed.
