Miss ann thrope is rediculous!! only a small minority of people with mental health problems are violent. i am currently training as a mental health nurse!! its a rewarding job and i love it.the starting salary is the same for all nurses i imagine, and you progress up through the increments on the band scales as all nurses do!the money is not brilliant for the job that mental health nurses do, or any nurse for that matter! mental health nurses will get extra pay if they work in more specialist services.this is not a job to do just for the money u have to really want to do it and have a passion for it!
