In scotland now the credit card machines will only work if your card has a chip in, i am from usa and ours doesnt have this i called the visa and they dont know anything about a chip?? anyone out there have a solution to this problem????

I am glad to hear that europe is leading the way in the technology of chip and pin! you probably need to go into the bank and explain the problem to the cashier. take your passport. they should still have the old fashioned machine in back somewhere!
