You can usually use them in cash machines, but beware because there is usually a charge for withdrawing cash (a fixed fee or a percentage of the amount you withdraw) on a credit card, and you will usually be charged a different (higher) rate of interest on cash advances than you would be on purchases. check with your card issuer exactly what the terms are.
