Does the home office do financial checks on british citizen applicants?

I will be applying for a british citizenship next month, but i`ve got an outstanding debt from my credit card which i have not paid for in the last 2 due dates that had past. would it affect my application if they found out that i have an unpaid debt from the credit card company? and how long before the company can apply for a ccj against me? hoping for an immediate response
Answer
Once again the short answer is no the home office have no means or lawful reason to do a credit check on you, also they have to inform you just like all other companies that want to do a credit check, the credit card company can apply for ccj when you recieve a letter telling you if you dont pay they will apply for one
