Does it affect your credit rating if you pay off your credit card and close the account?

i have already got another 3 cards but only 1 with a balance on it. the other 2 are open but zero. this might help your advice. thanks to everyone so far, much appreciated!

Do nto cose the accounts. this will hurt your score. continue charging small amounts on them (less than 10.00) pay them off in full e month instead. good luck.
